The West Otago A&P Show will be guided by the Covid-19 alert levels as advised by the government.
Alert Level 1 allows us to continue as a full Show and open to the public. Should we be in Alert Level 2, the Committee will run stock only Competitions and the grounds will be open to competitors only.
All those entering the grounds will be asked to sign in or scan the QR codes at all entry points. Hand hygiene and social distancing will be up to individuals to self-manage.
One of the best one day highlights in the West Otago calender. This year we are proud to be hosting the South Island Tux Dog Trial Championships Finals, these will be run over the weekend. We are excited to have the NZ Perendale Society holding its annual Perendale Ram Hogget Golden Sash at our Show. There will be some fine dog to watch at the West Otago Tux Challenge, running over Friday and Saturday, combining with the South Island Tux Challenge. It will be a great day out for all the family and a welcome distraction from the interesting times we are living in this year.
Each year we have great Trade Displays and The Showmarket from many local businesses displaying their products and services. The annual Speed Shear is a great exhibition of shearing skills. The Chop Off between the shearers and the woodchoppers is always a race for the win and not one to be missed! A great day for the whole family, we have something to entertain all ages.
